As part of its efforts in the education sector, the Shanker Foundation helped uplift the community of Sankhu in Lalitpur through building a new earthquake-resistant building for the Suntakhan Secondary School. Educating more than 150 students from under-privilegd families, the original building of the Suntakhan Secondary School had been severely damaged by the earthquake of April 25th, 2015.

Empowering students to undertake a career in infrastructure development, Shanker Group has been awarding the topper at the Institute Of Engineering’s Thapathali campus with the Shree Shanker Lal Agrawal Gold Medal. Along with the Gold Medal, scholarship worth NRS 51,000 for the motivation to the topper.
Following the outbreak of the global Covid-19 pandemic, Shanker Group in association with the Kathmandu Lions Club initiated several Covid-19 awareness programmes in several public areas around Kathmandu, communicating the importance of personal hygiene and social distancing in reducing risk of contamination. As part of their social initiative towards promoting health and wellness, Shanker Group organized the Dashain Daud- an inner-city marathon held across several cities in Nepal. As part of the Dashain Daud, Shanker Group provided all participants with sure-shot discounts from the TVS Motor Company, as well as awarding the first, second and third place winners with NRs. 50,000, NRs. 25,000 and NRs. 15,000 cash awards.
Acknowledging the importance of environmental conversation and preservation, the Shanker Group worked in association with the Government of Nepal’s Department of Environment at the Ministry of Forests and Environment to initiate the plantation of tree saplings in and around Kathmandu valley on the 5th of June, 2019 in honour of World Environment Day.
